Hi Yuri

We had a great day again with both of you…I loved the different format for the year two’s which was even more hands on and the children loved their day. they are still talking about it and we have got lots of ideas for PE lessons to carry on in class.
Thank you again for your hard work
Christine Adams, Head Teacher at Leyland Infants school.

Here are some of the comments from the young people here on the Hope and Horizon Units at Fairfield Hospital, Bury.

It cheered me up!

It was good- they tried to get everyone involved and tried to teach us all at least something.

I found it enjoyable even though I was kinda bad at it!

It was good entertaining and funny!

It was really fun and I had a great laugh. I actually learnt a few things and wouldn’t mind doing something like that again.

I thought it was really fun and the people were nice and funny- I really enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed the circus skills workshop. I enjoyed trying out new skills such as spinning plates, juggling and my favourite one was the devils stick. I managed catching the stick and would love to do it again, especially since I used to want to join the circus!!

I thought it was really fun and interesting and would be happy if they came back again. I enjoyed learning new skills.

I think it was one of the funniest things we have done in education and it was really,  really fun and it was good that we got to be involved and the people were really nice.

It was good fun and I enjoyed learning new things and the people that did it were really friendly and everyone got involved!!

I really enjoyed it. I loved learning new skills such as spinning plates and balance boards. I liked having the opportunity to go up and join in.

What can I say? A resounding success!

Sue Jarvis, Head of Education, Fairfield Hospital, Bury.

Hi Yuri – I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the teachers who came on Saturday, and to let you know how delighted we were. They were enthusiastic, friendly, took real care with the children, and were a real hit with both children and parents. We had over 80 children & adults, and there was a huge age range in relation to the children, so it was even more impressive that they were able to keep everyone’s attention and give so many people such a fun experience. I would certainly be recommending your Circus School to others – and indeed I think one or two people who were there on Saturday may be contacting you in the future! Please would you pass on our grateful thanks to Jamie-Lee, Daniel and Jose.

With renewed thanks and best wishes

Hilary (Blackpool adoption support)

Hi Yuri and Tonya,
Sorry about the delay in contacting you but I don’t know where the time goes.
I just wanted to say how much everyone, staff and children enjoyed the workshops you taught at our school. The children are still talking about them now and we have had a brilliant response from parents. Apparently whole families have had a turn with the scarves!
I think one of our Year 2 boys summed everyone’s feelings up perfectly when he said “it was the best thing that we have done in school EVER”.
Many, many thanks to you both for giving all of our children such a special and memorable experience.
Kind regards,
Janet.
Janet Spencer,
Headteacher,
Driffield CofE Infant School.

I am the teacher of Year 2 at Gilthwaites First School in Denby Dale, Huddersfield.
Blackpool Circus School came to teach my class some circus skills to support our Circus
and Magic topic. They came on the 27th January 201 I, for the afternoon.
The session was absolutely fantastic! The children loved it and learned a lot, even myself
at 25 thoroughly enjoyed it too. The session met the children’s needs, abilities and age
group perfectly. The afternoon was worth every penny and I would recommend
Blackpool Circus School to any primary school who is working on a circus topic.
Yuri and Tonya were the trainers/instructors. They were lovely people; funny,
professional, skilled in their area and very organised. They supported the children in
learning new skills. They had good behaviour management, taking complete control over
the class, and had prepared a fun filled afternoon.
The afternoon consisted of discussion, history of the circus, sharing skills and a circuit
was set up where children got to try out and practise a range of circus skills. During the
practical session, they played exciting circus music which created a perfect circus
atmosphere. Yuri and Tonya had tailored the afternoon so that it centred around the skills
and needs of my 6-7 year old pupils.
I am an extremely satisfied customer! Amazing afternoon!
Thank you Yuri and Tonya for your hard work.
Yours sincerely
Miss Bell (Gilthwaites First School)
