About Us

The Circus School’s origin story is deeply rooted from the passion and expertise of former circus artists. Establishing Blackpool Circus School in 1999, these individuals aimed to not only teach circus skills but also to promote the physical and mental well-being of participants. Recognizing the transformative potential of circus training, they endeavoured to create a supportive environment where individuals could develop their confidence and overall health.

By formally incorporating as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in May 2008, the Circus School solidified its commitment to serving the community’s interests and needs. As a CIC, the organization operates with a clear social purpose, ensuring that its activities are conducted for the benefit of the community rather than for private gain. This legal structure reflects the school’s ethos of community engagement and underscores its dedication to providing accessible circus education and fostering personal growth among its participants.
