The Circus school was founded in 1999 by a group of circus artistes that wanted to pass on their skills and enthusiasm to local children, it was hoped that this positive activity would help to keep them of the streets and give them a focus in their lives.

The artistes were joined by a JP, a principal youth officer, a Deputy head plus a chartered accountant, they were all interested in the same aims as the artistes and gave them valuable support through a committee that went on to become a charity.

The school uses various venues to hold workshop sessions and will visit any suitable venue when requested. No children of any background are excluded provided they adhere to a strict code of discipline that is vital when teaching Circus skills.
